Georgetown Selects Daylor for Master Plan Assistance

. . . Boston-area Planning Firm to Help Town Complete Plan, Including Assessing Economic Development Challenges

BRAINTREE, MA – February 15, 2007--Daylor Consulting Group, Inc., a leading Boston-area consulting engineering and planning firm, is pleased to announce that it has been selected by Georgetown to help complete the town’s master plan.

Daylor staff will be working with the town planner, the Planning Board, and other officials to complete the project by May of 2007.  An initial community development plan for Georgetown was crafted in 2004.  Daylor planners will use the community development plan as a basis for finalizing the master plan, and will primarily focus on four components:  land use, economic development potential and challenges, public facilities, and plan implementation.   A kickoff meeting was held on January 24, with planning and other officials, as well as the public in attendance.

Residents have been asked to provide input and comments, either through the town planning office or via the master plan web site:  http//sharepoint.daylor.com/Georgetown.  Two additional public meetings are scheduled at Town Hall for March 27 and April 11 and the public is invited.

Once completed, the master plan will be used as the guidance document for planning future growth and land use for Georgetown.
